Kelsey Anne Newton - 17yr old JIA Patient

Our daughter, Kelsey was diagnosed 1 1/2 yrs ago with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am taking on the challenge to make a difference in our community and her life by participating in the Arthritis Walk as a part of Let's Move Together, the Arthritis Foundation's nationwide movement that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis.

Today, one in five people suffer from the pain of arthritis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) project that by the year 2030, 67 million people in the U.S., or 1 in 4 adults, will live with arthritis. But this is not just a disease for adults. Kelsey battles daily with her disease from the pain, stiffness and inflammation associated with this disease, not to mention the battles with her immune system and the strong medications she takes to help with her symptoms.

Want you please join me in the movement against arthritis by helping me reach my goal? Let's Move Together to improve lives and reduce the pain of arthritis. You can help in different ways; join our team and raise money for further research; donate money for further research for medications and treatments; or simple come walk with us on May 2, 2009 in Birmingham.
